SHPE 5TH GENERAL MEETING

SHPE 5TH GENERAL MEETING

WHEN: THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2009

We will be having our 5th General Meeting this upcoming Thursday. Refreshments will be provided. 

Please don’t forget to attend this meeting because we will discuss future events and form committees that will carry them out as well. We will also have a brief Resume Workshop to give those who don’t have a Resume an idea of how to get it started before the Career Center professionals come to us and give us a more detailed critique.

Outreach Event - MESA Robotics Competition

WHEN: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2009

TIME: 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM

WHERE: SAN BERNARDINO

Your help with this event will help encourage and inspire students and families which are not fully involved in the college environment. Students will “learn by doing” and demonstrate their academic and technical expertise in a pretty involved robotics project.

The robot competition will be taking place in San Bernardino this year. Last year it was here, in our campus, and the event went great. Volunteers are needed for this competition to take place, so please attend one of the meetings on Tuesday and be prepared for Saturday.

MESA Robotic Competition Volunteer Meeting

WHEN: TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2009

TIME: 2 SESSIONS: 5-6 PM AND 6-7 PM

WHERE: EBU II 205-6

Come to the volunteer meeting this Tuesday. This event requires many volunteers and your help will be appreciated. There will be 3 types of volunteers, and you choose what you want to do. There will be 2 sessions for your convenience.

REGISTRATION/HOSPITALITY: Assist with greeting guests, monitoring food service and registration area…

GENERAL VOLUNTEER: Perform general tasks, like helping set-up and take down equipment, being a runner, etc.

JUDGE: Be a judge for one of the three different challenges that will be taking place!
