Vista Service Pack 1 is here!

Finally, the service pack has arrived. I’ll point out a few features I’ve noticed and wanted to happen. This should be something all Vista users should definitely download!

*Made the OS more stable (So no more bugging out hopefully???)
*Decrease in cpu use (not significant…but enough to make my laptop have 20-30mins more battery life)
*Improves logon response as well as hibernation and stand by modes
*Improves wireless connectivity
*Calculates the time to move files better than before (Would calculate about ~8 days to transfer 40gigs before…ridiculous)
*Improves transfer of files from one folder to another

Overview

I’ve tried it out for a bit, not long enough to know if it has had great improvements. So far I noticed about a 10% cpu use decrease when nothing is running, which is better. I’ll get back to you guys as soon as I find out if the changes are notable. Meanwhile, download it here!

Apparently XP will also have a 3rd service pack pretty soon. Can’t wait for that one to arrive!

Finals week finally over

Sorry for not posting anything new but I was terribly busy. Now, I’m up here in big bear about to go snowboarding! I’ll post pictures, and more once I’m done with my 3 day vacation! So stay tuned!

So you want to create a free blog?

It’s pretty simple. I’ll walk you through the steps and give you some links to various sites with themes/plugins/tutorials to make your blog looking fresh and professional. Our result should be the blog like the picture above. I’ll step you through so you can easily create a blog like mine with all the functionality mine has to offer. And yes, it doesn’t have to cost you one cent.

First of all, what is a blog?

Many might wonder, what is a blog? Is it a personal journal? A site related to someone’s favorite hobby? In reality, a blog can be anything. You have people like JohnChow, and ShoeMoney who make money by telling you how to make money! Trust me, they are successful. They make enough money to have their blog as their only source of income. You heard me. Only source of income.

So a blog is all about making money???

No, please don’t get me wrong. Their first purposes was to simply write about their passions, their hobbies. Later on as they kept getting more traffic, they probably looked for ways to make money, and got introduced to SEO (Search Engine Optimization) among other things related to bringing traffic to their blogs. (I’ll talk about this later as it isn’t relevant to (but is important) to my post today which is about creating your own free blog.) For now, just have in mind that a blog should be about your hobbies, passions, and whatnot. If not, you will quickly lose focus and won’t know what other content to post on your site.

Finals week here at UCR…

By the way, for those who don’t know I attend University of Riverside, California, and yes, this week is finals week! Therefore, I’ll probably be busy, and busy after this week as well (Spring break!). So don’t expect too many posts. I’ll keep updating how things come along.

How was my final? Studying for 2 straight days kinda paid off. Except…it always seems like the professors pulls the question out of the middle of nowhere and expects us to know what he’s talking about.
